 OF CITIZENS IN CLEVELAND

JOIN THE NETWORK

We are leaning on volunteers to assist community members through the process of primarily setting up appointments (and if able, providing transportation, staffing registration events, and administrative support to this Network). Our greatest need is for callers who will be paired with community members to help obtain an appointment.

As a volunteer you will:

  • Read specific instructions sent to you after submitting this form

  • Attend a 30-minute volunteer training

  • Be matched with one or more vaccine-eligible community member(s)

  • Connect by phone with your match

  • Assist in finding an appointment and registering them for the vaccine

  • Follow up with your match to check in if they need additional assistance and if they received the vaccine

You must be available to be matched and begin the process of helping your matches right away. Because appointment slots become available during the day, you must have time during business hours for this volunteer activity. All volunteers are asked to attend a one-time, 30-minute training session over Zoom as they begin the volunteer process.

The time commitment for each successful appointment set-up varies from a few short phone-calls to several weeks in trying to pin down an appointment.

The Cleveland Vaccine Volunteer Network is currently made up of Serve the Moment Cleveland, Neighborhood Connections, Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Kent State Hillel and Cleveland Hillel.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What happens after I submit the form?

Following the submission of the form, you will receive info about next steps from our team which will include information about mandatory training sessions. Please allow for up to a couple of days to receive info about a match-- if we have more volunteers than those requesting vaccine assistance, there may be a large lapse in hearing back from us.

What happens if I haven’t heard back from my match?

If you have made a good faith attempt to reach your match (after at least two attempts, ideally through both phone and email) and they have not responded after one week, we request that you email us so we can ‘close the case’ and reassign you to someone else. Should the community member then reach out after this time, we are happy to help you assess your bandwidth and either take them back-on or have them re-assigned to someone else.

Do I need to be in Cleveland to help?
